WHEN DO NEWBORN SESSIONS TAKE PLACE?
Ideally newborn sessions are held between 5-20 days. This is because brand new babies are the most sleepy and curly so we can get them in those adorable squishy poses safely. Also, baby acne tends to kick in around the 2nd week and while I will retouch blemishes out of your final images, excessive acne can be difficult to remove entirely. While I really encourage and prefer that we do the session within 2 weeks I realize that sometimes there are reasons that the session cannot be done within this time frame. Should this happen, I will still photograph "older" newborns, however, some of those desired posed/sleepy baby shots may not happen.
WHERE DO NEWBORN SESSIONS TAKE PLACE?
Newborn STUDIO sessions will take place in my studio located in Edmonds, WA.
HOW LONG DOES A SESSION LAST?
I allow up 4 hours for a full session and up to 90 minutes for a mini session. The time will fly by so fast between preparing each set up, soothing/settling/feeding baby, and positioning baby.

HOW DO I BOOK A SESSION WHEN I’M NOT SURE WHEN BABY WILL BE BORN?
I highly suggest booking your session during your second trimester to guarantee yourself a session date on my calendar. I can only take a limited amount of clients each month. Obviously many babies are not born on their due date so we just use your due date as a rough estimate. Once baby is born, you will need to notify me within a couple day of birth so we can schedule your actual session date and time. I schedule my newborn sessions Monday-Friday starting at 11:30am.
CAN WE USE SOMETHING I MADE OR PURCHASED FOR OUR BABY IN OUR SESSION?
Absolutely! Personal items will make your photos all the more special to you. However, I suggest no more than 2 props because I do have an ample supply of props/headbands/hats/sets that I've accumulated that match my style of photography. Be sure to inform me of what you may be brining to your session 2 weeks prior to your session so that I can work the props into my workflow.
CAN SIBLINGS AND PARENTS BE IN A FEW SHOTS?
Parent and sibling shots can be done if you purchased the FULL newborn session or add on to your mini session. I do ask that you bring an extra person to take the sibling home/to a park/out to lunch after their photos have been taken so that we can get on with baby's session with no interruptions. I do not allow animals in my studio for safety reasons and for the sake of my other clients that my be allergic to animals. We can most definitely schedule a family session at a later date to incorporate your fur baby! ;)
DO I GET TO CHOOSE WHICH PHOTOS WILL BE IN MY GALLERY?
Please trust that I will choose the best images to share in your proof gallery. I will weed out the unfocused/technically incorrect images. Many shots are duplicates so the best of these sets will be chosen. On occasion if we have a baby that super cooperative I will have many extra shots. If this is the case, these images will show up in your proof gallery and you will have opportunity to purchase them.
ANYTHING ELSE I SHOULD KNOW?
On the day of your session keep baby awake as much as possible before you head out to my studio. You can do this by bathing them, keeping them in a diaper and unswaddled, and talking to them. Right before you head out to your session, try to give baby a big feeding. This is REALLLLLLY important for encouraging a sleepy baby for your session. Have baby dressed in a button up or zipper sleeper. When you arrive to the studio, carry baby into the studio in baby's car seat, after going over the session workflow with you, I will take baby out of his or her car seat and get right to work!
